the bucket list

This would be my first time writing about a movie, and I don’t even know if it’s showing now or if it’s not. Just finished watching it in my ever reliable DVD player, ofcourse knowing me and my budget the dvd is fake. And so… so what… I aint the only one you know.

Well that’s not the reason why I wrote this, I just want to recommend this movie to you. Yes you, the one who is reading this right now.  Ofcourse I am pertaining to you, who else would I be talking to. It is a story of friendship, life and how to accept death in a different perspective. I dare not tell you the plot of the story for it will ruin your curiousness, but I tell you this, it is a moving story and surely you would love it as I did. Have I told you that it stars two of my fave actors, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. So why are you still there? Go on and watch this movie… a must see.

Suharto dies at age 86

Former dictator, currently ranked as the 6th richest man in the world, with an estimated personal wealth of $16,000,000,000, an army general who crushed Indonesian communist movement and became the second president of Indonesia and reigned from1967-1998. His rule made significant growth to the economy and industy of Indonesia, however this 3 decade rule also led to million deaths, suspected communists and other political opponents.suharto.jpg

On January 4, 2008, Suharto, 86, was rushed to the Pertamina hospital, Jakarta. His medical condition deteriorated due to complications resulting to weak heart, swelling of limbs and stomach, and partial renal failure. Suharto’s health signs improved on Sunday but he remained critical, after haemodialysis. On January 8, 2008, Suharto’s health worsened as doctors diagnosed him of anemia and low blood pressure due to heart and kidney complications. There was internal bleeding, fluid on his lungs, blood in his faeces and urine which caused hemoglobin drop.On January 11, 2008, it was announced that Suharto’s condition worsened dramatically and that he suffered multiple organ failure. Two days later, the chief of the medical team treating Suharto stated that the former President is in a “very critical condition” after almost all his organ functions failed, and that there was only a 50-50 chance that he would survive, though some Indonesians believe Suharto would not die easily because he practiced mysticism. On January 17, 2008, since only machines prolong his life (amid multiple organ failure, pneumonia and sepsis), Suharto’s 2-week hospitalization sparked quiet debate on end-of-life issues. 100 hospital directors, doctors and researchers took part in an end-of-life workshop in Yogyakarta city (a collaboration between Harvard Medical School and Gadjah Mada University, organized before Suharto fell ill). On January 23, 2008 Suharto’s health worsened further, as an infection spread through his body and fluctuated until it reached the lowest level on January 27. He died on that day at 1:10 pm.

Based on my experience and sa nakikita ko sa ating kapaligiran.
It involves the combination of 37 numbers of 37 numbers. In some areas, the operators use 38 numbers. For 37 of 37 numbers, there are, 1,369 combinations; while for 38 of 38 numbers, there are, 1,444 combinations.

Pero all in all madaling lutuin at ang sangkap madaling hanapin at mura lang.
So it’s your choice what you’ll do with your adobo. But this is the only advice i would give you mas masarap pag masarsa ang adobo kesa sa masabaw pero nasa sa inyo pa rin yan. And this is how we (my family and I) cook our adobong baboy.

a tribute to Heath…

I’m not good at future planning. I don’t plan at all. I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow. I don’t have a day planner and I don’t have a diary. I completely live in the now, not in the past, not in the future.                    Heath Ledger

Sulat ni Tatay at Nanay sa Atin

a forwarded message from my cousin Jo-ann and Naome in friendster.

Pagtatawanan o pagsasawaang pakinggan.

Amoy matanda, amoy lupa.
Huwag mo sana akong piliting maligo. Mahina na ang katawan ko.
Madaling magkasakit kapag nalamigan, huwag mo sana akong pandirihan.

Natatandaan mo noong bata ka pa? Pinagtyagaan kitang habulin
As ilalim ng kama kapag ayaw mong maligo.

Pinagtyagaan kong pakinggan at intindihin

But it doesn’t mean you can’t go to Tondo and celebrate, every one is welcome and surely you’ll have fun. But before you go, here are some of my tips for you. First leave your valuables and all your problems behind, if you’ll bring extra money aside from your transpo allowance and meal, hide it in a safe place, be cautious but not too cautious it will ruin all the fun. Second do wear a pair of sandals cause going to Tondo’s fiesta would mean you have to walk.. walk and walk and it is much comfy. Third stay out of trouble!, it’s like a curse of Tondo that every fiesta there’s always a casualty to be recorded. Fourth don’t forget to bring your camera for there are lots of nice things to shoot.

VIVA STO NINO.

Feast of Sto. Niño draws devotees to Tondo

Around 30,000 people celebrated the Feast of Sto. Niño in Tondo, Manila, ABS-CBN News reported Saturday. Devotees filled the Sto. Niño Church in Tondo, many bringing their own images of the saint. People also danced during the procession as a form of devotion to the Sto. Niño, as well as a nod to the time when ancient Filipinos first welcomed the saint during the Spanish occupation, reported correspondent Niko Baua. Brother Henry Sy of the Sto. Niño Parish Pastoral Council said that the festival started in 1572 when the saint’s image was brought to Tondo from Acapulco, Mexico, only a few years after a similar image was brought to Cebu by Spanish conquistadores. “Lahat ng hiling mo kay Sto. Niño gina-grant. Kung gusto mong magka-anak, kung gusto mong yumaman, para sa good health, lahat ‘yan gina-grant naman niya (Everything one asks from the Sto. Niño, he grants it. Having a child, wealth, good health – he grants them all),” said Sy.Aside from a procession along the city’s streets, there will also be a fluvial procession, which was revived in 2001 according to Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.The image of the Sto. Niño will also be carried in a procession early morning and evening on Sunday for devotees coming from the province

MANILA, Philippines – The Filipinos’ love and devotion to the Christ Child is phenomenal. This will again be manifested today when churches in every town and city hold Masses and processions.

In Cebu City, people will hear Mass at the Pilgrim Center across the Basilica de Sto. Niño while others will light candles in the church or touch the image.
Cebuanos and guests will then dance the “Sinulog” to the beat of drums and shouts of “Pit Señor! Viva Sto. Niño!” Going to Cebu for the fiesta is a panata for devotees wishing to thank Him for answered prayers.
Historical accounts say before Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Cebu in 1521, Sinulog was danced by the natives in honor of wooden idols and anitos. Magellan introduced Christianity, giving the Sto. Niño as a baptismal gift to Hara Amihan, wife of Cebu’s Rajah Humabon and who became Queen Juana.
During the 44 years between the coming of Magellan and Legazpi, natives danced the Sinulog but this time as a sign of reverence to the Sto. Niño, who is now enshrined in the San Agustin Church. The church later became the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño.
